Hello, I’m Greg Shelton, and I have had the privilege of serving on the White City Metro Township Council since January 5, 2023. I was initially appointed to complete the term of the late Councilmember Scott Little and was honored to be elected by our residents in 2023 to continue serving in my first full four-year term.

In addition to my role on the council, I was first appointed by the White City Council to represent our community on the Board of Trustees for the Wasatch Front Waste and Recycling District. In 2024, I was elected by the board to serve as Vice Chair, and in Jan, 2025, I was honored to be elected as Chair. In this role, I’m focused on ensuring the district stays operational and efficient, while also working hard to keep service fees as low as possible for our residents. We’re committed to maintaining the highest level of waste management services for our community while controlling costs and preventing any loss of services.

I originally grew up in Moses Lake, Washington—a small farming town where I learned firsthand the value of strong communities and neighbors helping neighbors. After moving to Salt Lake County in 2008, I met my wife, Kristy, who grew up in the Sandy Hills area. In 2017, we purchased her grandparents' home in White City, and I quickly became involved in serving our community. Before joining the council, I was an active member of the White City Community Council, serving as secretary from 2018 until my appointment to the Township Council in 2023.

My focus has always been on preserving the unique qualities that make White City special while addressing the needs and concerns of our residents. I bring a problem-solving mindset to the council, leveraging my background in information technology and infrastructure to improve our township’s operations. I believe in proactive leadership, community engagement, and ensuring White City remains a great place to live.
